Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms. By creating an account or otherwise using StrainDex (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

2. Eligibility. The Service is intended solely for adults 21 and older. By creating an account, you represent that you're at least 21 and that your use of the Service complies with the laws of your jurisdiction. We don't verify the legal status of cannabis where you live — that's on you.

3. What StrainDex is. StrainDex is a personal cannabis journal and informational reference app: check-ins, a strain library, community recipes and growing tips, and a dispensary locator. StrainDex does not sell, deliver, broker, or otherwise facilitate the purchase or transfer of cannabis or cannabis products, and nothing in the app is a marketplace or point of sale.

4. Accounts. You're responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate registration information. One account per person — accounts can't be sold, transferred, or shared. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraud, or misrepresent age or eligibility.

5. Your content. You keep ownership of what you submit — check-ins, notes, tasting notes, photos, ratings, pairings. By submitting it, you give StrainDex permission to host, store, and display it within the app. You confirm you have the rights to anything you upload.

6. Community-submitted content. Recipes and growing tips are reviewed before publishing, but this is a basic appropriateness check, not a professional or medical certification. Dosing suggestions and techniques reflect individual contributors' opinions, not StrainDex's. You take on the risk of following any community-submitted instructions, especially around dosing.

7. Prohibited conduct. Don't: break applicable law; harass or threaten other users; upload content that infringes someone else's rights; misrepresent your age; scrape or reverse-engineer the Service; or use StrainDex to actually sell, buy, or distribute cannabis or any controlled substance.

8. Not medical advice. Strain effects, THC/CBD percentages, and terpene info come from user reports and published third-party sources, and may not reflect the actual composition of anything you encounter. Nothing here is medical advice or intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Talk to a healthcare provider about your own situation.

9. Third-party services. Dispensary information comes from third-party data providers and may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. We don't verify dispensary licensing, inventory, pricing, or hours — always confirm with the dispensary directly.

10. Intellectual property. The StrainDex name, logo, and underlying software belong to StrainDex and its licensors. Strain photography is used under the Unsplash License and credited to its photographers where applicable.

11. No warranties. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind — including accuracy of strain data, uninterrupted availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

12. Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, StrainDex is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, arising from your use of the Service.

13. Indemnification. You agree to cover StrainDex for claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

14. Termination. You can delete your account anytime from Account Settings. We can suspend or terminate your access for violating these Terms, with or without notice.

15. Changes. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, and may revise these Terms, at any time.

16. Governing law. The governing jurisdiction for these Terms is still being finalized with counsel.

17. Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.

18. Entire agreement. These Terms plus the Privacy Policy make up the whole agreement between you and StrainDex about the Service.
